Christmas Presents !!

I am taking some much needed time out from Christmas presents at the moment. I have been burning the candles at both ends all week and still have so much to do!
I have nothing to write about at the moment so I will show you what I have been up to...

Can you guess what this is?

A pencil holder! This is just my practise one to see if it would work, wow I love it! I have 2 of these yet to make.... You can find the pattern at here

This is a cushion for my mother in-law. I was inspired my this picture at soulemama. I am almost finished it now, just the writing to embroider. It is a lizard with spikes, by Liam. lol

Headbands... Ahh these were fun to make but also a bit frustating as the materal kept slipping. They are reversable. I've added a tube of material to cover the elastic band. You can find the pattern here

Well that is my week.

Gosh it doen't look like much but, with 2 busy boys I am happy with my effort so far. Have a great week!

The beginning... vintage finds

I love to create 'things' and shop for vintage 'stuff'
I can be a very material person when it comes to my 'stash' for sewing and what-not! - ok there I admitted it!
~relief~

I just love, love second-hand shopping. This last week I have scored, hit the payload, whatever you want to call it. I went off searching for a boys pj pattern and managed to come home with (please exuse the quality of the photos, my batteries are nearly flat!)

At least 10+ balls of pure wool, vintage pillow cases (to make bags out of, of course) a jigsaw puzzle for the kids and this lovely fabric.

And then yesterday I took my brother off to for a quick look and came back with

A buzz lightyear doll, and RC from toystory, 2 pretend power tool toys, wool, a car matt, a vintage bath matt and a vintage set of scales. Wow, just wow.

And to add to this I have been invited to a grab a bag on Thursday. Now if you have never been to a-grab-a-bag, essentially you grab a plastic (yuck) bag and fill it with clothing and goodies within the store. Oh they are so wonderful.
Years ago there used to be sales where they dumped piles of clothes on the floor and you went like made to fill your bag. This is where I found my formal dress. I lovely 1970s floral baby - beautiful! Pity it doesn't fit me anymore. I will post a photo of it another time.

Wow that a week of finds, and still one more day to go It will certainly keep my fingers busy
Emjoy your week...
